Caring for Jackson

100 Women Who Care was founded in 2006 by Karen Dunigan to bring women together to meet needs in their community. Since then, more than 900 groups across the country have used this model for giving back to local nonprofits.

In 2019, 100 Women Who Care Jackson was introduced by Shelby Mathis and Alli Dumas. The group made awards to several nonprofits serving Madison County until the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.

How It Works

Making an Impact Locally

Nonprofits will submit grant applications to be reviewed by a volunteer selection committee who selects up to six organizations to present (maximum three large, three small). Each March, the group will meet to network with one another and hear from the finalists. After the presentations, members and sponsors will vote to determine which nonprofit in each category receives the grant award.

Your level of giving determines the number of votes you have. To join 100 Women Who Care, make a commitment to a level of annual giving.
