CWTAR Partners with Community Foundation of West Tennessee to Establish Scholarship Fund

In partnership with the Community Foundation of West Tennessee, the Central West Tennessee Association of Realtors (CWTAR) is launching a scholarship fund to invest in the next generation. The group plans to award a $500 scholarship to a graduating high school senior in each county of their service area – Chester, Crockett, Decatur, Dyer, Gibson, Haywood, Henderson, Lauderdale, and Madison.

“Realtors are the heartbeat of our neighborhoods. We live here, we serve here, and our children go to school here. Giving back is personal for our agents,” said Brent Ward, CEO/Association Executive for CWTAR. “We don’t just sell homes – we build communities.”

Applications are being accepted for the 2025 CWTAR scholarships. High school seniors in the counties mentioned with a GPA of 2.5 and higher are encouraged to apply by May 31, 2025, for consideration. Seniors interested can apply online at https://forms.gle/Tp4LurDdUTqt4qAEA.

The parameters for scholarship recipients are:

  • Any graduating high school senior (public, private, or homeschool) in the following counties
    • Chester
    • Crockett
    • Decatur
    • Dyer
    • Gibson
    • Haywood
    • Henderson
    • Lauderdale
    • Madison
  • GPA of at least2.5 or higher 
“We are proud to partner with CWTAR to administer these scholarships. Education is a vital piece of a thriving community, and scholarships are more important than ever in helping students overcome financial barriers to achieving their goals,” said Dr. Frank McMeen, President of the Community Foundation.

The CWTAR Scholarship Fund isa fund of the Community Foundation of West Tennessee. The fund’s mission is to give back to the community where their agents live, worship, and work by helping high school seniors cross the financial finish line to college, trade school, and beyond.
