Today, the Community Foundation of West Tennessee hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony with the Greater Jackson Chamber at its office on 74 Directors Row. The organization was joined by members of its Board of Trustees, staff, and community leaders to celebrate.
Known as the West Tennessee Healthcare Foundation since 1985, the nonprofit is now operating as the Community Foundation of West Tennessee. The ribbon cutting marks the organization’s membership of the Greater Jackson Chamber and continued role in serving rural communities of West Tennessee.
“We are excited about our new branding as the Community Foundation of West Tennessee,” said Greg Alexander, Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees. “The name better reflects the scope of support and services we offer in the area.”
Community Foundation Board of Trustees and staff remain in place. The processes for making distributions and donations are the same, including the organization’s tax identification number with the IRS.
Following the ribbon cutting, the Community Foundation welcomed donors, fund representatives, local businesses, and community members to its annual Christmas Open House. This event allows the nonprofit’s team to connect with its constituents, reflect on the year, and share holiday spirit with food, music, and fellowship.
